Guangdong, Where Hi-Tech Meets Wellbeing

The 18th CHITEC is about to kick off on May 13. Centered round the theme of “Spurring technical innovation and guiding industrial development”, Guangdong exhibition zone, featuring five prestigious colleges (South China University of Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong University of Technology, South China Agricultural University, and Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences), 12 enterprises (including Guangdong Architectural Sciences Institute Co., Ltd. and Guangdong RealFaith Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.) and over 30 scientific projects, will promote with fanfare the latest hi-tech achievements of Guangdong and its strategic emerging industries as well as the new finds, products and technology for the benefit of people’s livelihood. Among all the participants, South China University of Technology and Guangdong RealFaith Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will stand out with eye-catching centerpieces.

With the support of national hi-tech R&D program (863 program) and national key technology R&D program, South China University of Technology has successfully developed the single-screw vibration plasticating extruder (the world’s first to adopt the processing method of shear vibration plasticating), the pulsating pressure-induced plasticating injection molding equipment, and the tri-screw dynamic mixing extruder, promoting the technology progress of plastic machinery industry and the sustainable development of plastic processing.

Guangdong RealFaith Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has independently developed the metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) equipment, the first world-class Chinese-made equipment of its kind accredited by a joint expert panel made up of industrial authorities and members of the Chinese Academies of Sciences and Engineering, thus removing the technical constraints on import substitution, breaking up the international intellectual monopoly for nearly 30 years, and greatly contributing to the development of domestic optoelectronics.
