On December 22, CCPIT Beijing held the Conference for the 19th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC) and the 11th China Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE) Media Coverage Plan. The conference was presided over by Liu Yang, Deputy Director of CCPIT, and addressed by Xiong Jiuling, Director of CCPIT. Zhang Gang and Yu Haibo, Deputy Directors of CCPIT, attended the conference, along with representatives from the Publicity Department of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and central and municipal media.

The press advised on the planning, theme, media coverage, and transformation of the 19th CHITEC and 11th ICCIE, and renewed their commitment to the publicity of these Expos together with the organizing committee.

Xiong Jiuling expressed her appreciation for their long-term concern with and support for CHITEC and ICCIE. After analyzing each proposal, she noted that CCPIT Beijing would always be open to helpful suggestions in its pursuit of innovative development and greater contribution to enhancing Beijing’s role as the national cultural and technology innovation hub.

Xiong also offered her insights on the upcoming Expo preparation, proposing following measures:

1. Innovate the organization and operation of Expos. This is about staging events of novelty, viability, and quality, and running Expos in a professional manner with global and business engagement.

2. Appeal to market entities with good service. Follow-up coverage of project information is required to enhance the market attractiveness of Expos.

3. Tell effective stories during promotion. Specifically, the media should participate in the early stage of planning and promotion to share information and identify highlights; media coverage should also be improved—through the development of a combination-based, multi-channeled, and well-connected media cluster and proper application of Light App in new media—to ensure well-targeted and focused linear coverage, so as to optimize publicity effects.
