I. Background:

China Beijing international High-Tech Expo (CHITEC) has been held in the capital city for 19 consecutive years. It is a great gathering where domestic high-tech industries engage with their international peers.

Emerging industries are the trendsetter of the new-round industrial revolution. They are keys to new economic drivers and new competitive edge. The National Strategic Emerging Industry Plan (2016-2020) sees a modern industrial system - which gives strategic emerging industries a greater play - as a booster for sustained, healthy socioeconomic development.

This year’s session will focus on such topics as “Smart Manufacturing Spurs Jing-Jin-Ji Industrial Transformation and Development”, “Big Data Corridor: A Jing-Jin-Ji Approach”, “Innovation, Transformation and Upgrading of New Material Industry”, and “Technology and Capital: Opportunities and Challenges of Investing in New Materials”. Leaders of entities concerned, industrial experts and scholars, and executives of top Chinese companies will put their heads together over the collaborative innovation and development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei (collectively known as “Jing-Jin-Ji”) alongside the future of emerging industries. Enabling diversified forms of practical discussions, the Forum will serve as a platform for extensive sharing and cooperation.
